Last minute changes: Belgian F-16 is not coming

16.09.2016, 11:52

This year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days encountered unfortunately some changes in the programme announced just few days before the show. The Belgian F-16 Solo Display Team had to cancel its participation and NATO’s E-3A AWACS will be at static display for both weekend days.

The Belgian F-16 team apologized for not participating due to operational reasons. Due to operational commitments, the Belgian Air Force have no air transport means available for the transport of the team and material between Tanagra and Ostrava.

“We are presenting equipment that is in active service, so we have to count with possible cancellation of its participation at our event due to operational tasks. We however believe that the Belgian F-16 Solo Display Team will come next year,” Zbyněk Pavlaci, Jagello 2000 Chairman, comments.

The E-3A AWACS of the NATO’s E-3A Component changed the details of its participation. It was supposed to perform a fly-past as a part of Saturday programme, but it will arrive on Friday to Ostrava and will be at static displays for both days of the show. The presentation of the German Luftwaffe will be slightly changed as well, when only one Tornado ECR plane will arrive for static display, instead of two originally planned.

On the contrary, the Army Sport Centre Dukla expands the number of participating athletes. Kayaker Jakub Dostál, shooter Robin Daněk and pentathlete David Svoboda will be joined by rower Ondřej Synek, who won silver Olympic medal in Peking and London and bronze medal in Rio.
