Bell Helicopter to present itself to the expert public at Mošnov

15.09.2017, 09:40

Visitors of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days can look forward to a strong presence of Bell Helicopter. At its stand, expert visitors will have the opportunity to see static models of its UH-1Y, AH1-Z and V-22 models, as well as its newest V-280 model. Bell will also hold a virtual reality demonstration, which will simulate the experience of a Bell UH-1Y combat helicopter pilot during a combat mission.

“We’re glad that a company of global importance, which Bell Helicopter undoubtedly is, once again chose to participate in NATO Days. It’s a great opportunity to strengthen cooperation with the Czech aviation and space industry, as well as to present its abilities and products to the Army of the Czech Republic, the general partner and partner companies,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000.

Last year, visitors could have looked forward to a static display of the V-22 Osprey. The Boeing V-22 type is the first convertiplane in the world to successfully combine the vertical flight ability of a helicopter with the speed, flight radius, altitude and endurance of an aircraft. This unique combination gives its pilots and crew an unprecedented advantage as it enables more effective mission and objective fulfilments, which could not be completed by a single aircraft type in the past. The Bell Boeing V-22 went through an array of complex tests and is currently manufactured in dozens. It proved itself as resistant, modification-friendly platform in the most difficult conditions of our planet.

The multipurpose, combat-tested Bell UH-1Y helicopter, which has been chosen to support global missions of the US Marine Corps during the next four decades, is another important milestone for Bell. The helicopter, nicknamed Yankee, intervenes against various threats, deploys and rescues troops and civilians and is able to fly in the most difficult conditions, which is why it is one of elite models in the category of tactical multipurpose helicopters. The US Marine Corps first deployed the Bell UH-1Y helicopters in 2009. Although its origin is closely linked to the Huey model, which was utilised during combat operations during the Vietnam War, the current Bell UH-1Y is a fully-modern helicopter custom-fitted for the needs of the Marine Corps. In terms of effectivity, performance specifications and safety, Yankee is generations ahead of its predecessor and can operate in extreme conditions, freezing temperatures or the heat of the desert.

Bell Helicopter, founded in 1935 under the name Bell Aircraft Corporation, continues to set the pace for the industry and expand the scope of the vertical lift. The company is the unrivalled industry leader, with its name being recognized worldwide. Bell Helicopter was the very first company to obtain commercial certification for a helicopter. Additionally, the company is the only successful producer of convertiplanes. Bell Helicopters is headquartered in the US but has additional plants in Canada as well as important logistics supply and service centres in the Netherlands, Indonesia and the Czech Republic.
