We will do everything within our power to get Saudi Hawks in the air

16.09.2017, 19:25

Despite the inclement weather, over 65 000 people paid a visit to today's programme of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days in order to see, besides other things, the dynamic display of the Saudi Hawks aerobatic team. The performance was, unfortunately, cancelled due to low cloud that occurred in the display area, nevertheless, it still stays on tomorrow's programme.

As Colonel Jaroslav Míka, the display director of NATO Days, stated, unfavourable flying conditions cannot be underestimated: “Flying in a group of seven aircraft requires a very good visibility in order to allow pilots a clear view and not endanger themselves nor visitors. We are truly sorry but safety of both our visitors and participants is the priority.“

Nonetheless, we still, of course, count on this aerobatic team's display in the Sunday programme. „We will do everything within our power to get Saudi Hawks in the air tomorrow. Therefore, the display may exceptionally be at 10:10AM. If there is unpleasant weather conditions at this time, another option is that the team may perform from 3:30PM and close the whole programme of NATO Days,“ explains Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of Jagello 2000.
