Ostrava Metropolitan Police attends NATO Days for 14th time

Ostrava Metropolitan Police is one of few participants of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days that hasn’t missed a single year of the event. Its members will present training of their horses and dogs, equipment of police and they will provide bike storage free of charge.

Visitors can look forward to dynamic display of hippology group aimed at historical development of mounted police in Czech Republic and training of Ostrava Metropolitan Police’s horses. “The officers will be dressed up in historical uniforms provided by National Moravian - Silesian Theatre in Ostrava. After the dynamic displays, riders will be prepared to answer the questions of visitors in the area of static displays,” said Richard Váňa, deputy director, MPO.

Training of dogs represents another dynamic display. The visitors will be able to see arrests of suspects in different situation that officers have to face during their duty. Control of trained dog will demonstrate difficulty of training and precise cooperation between the dog and his handler.

At the static displays area, the visitors can see outfit, technical equipment and arms used by officers. Section of prevention, MPO will provide a presentation of MPO’s activities. Kids of every age will be able to enjoy interesting games, contests and quizzes. The visitors can also test their skills at mobile laser shooting range.

Ostrava Metropolitan Police will provide bike storage with the capacity of 8 000 bikes for 4th time in a row. The bikes can be stored securely and free of charge. Officers, members of bike patrol, will take care of public order on the international cycle route no. 5 going to the airport through region Poodří.
