Preparation for the biggest security show in Central Europe is already underway. Pleasing message came from meteorologists - for the next weekend bad weather won't thwart NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days and visitors can look forward to two days full of air and ground displays.

"It seems the temperature will rise over 20 degrees Celsius in the term of NATO Days," says Ladislav Hrtoň, meteorologist from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. And he adds: "The weather is unpredictable, but for sure will be better that last weekend." Perhaps visitors don't need to worry they will miss the air shows. Nonstop program will run almost all weekend, it starts after 9 AM and ends about 5 PM on Saturday and about 4 PM on Sunday.

And what is prepared for the visitors? "First public presentation in Europe of aircraft CV-22B Osprey will be the biggest attraction of this year. This hybrid of helicopter with aircraft so-called convertiplane is a breakthrough, which will be introduced by the US Special Forces," describes Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. Finnish soldiers prepared solo exhibition of combat aircraft F-18 Hornet for 20 anniversary of the entry into NATO Partnership for Peace program.

But this won't be only premiere from Scandinavia. SAAB 35 Draken from Swedish Air Force Historic Flight and Danish F-16 will appear in the Czech republic for the first time. The F-16s from Greece and Netherlands will join the shows as well. "Visitors will have an opportunity to compare three different exhibitions with this aircraft, that is unusual even on a pure air shows," says Pavlačík.

The audience will be grateful for joint fly-by of L-29, L-39 and L-159 aircraft from the company AERO Vodochody. The L-29 of Blue Sky Service Company will lead the formation, the L-39 from LOM Praha, s.p., that is used for the pilot's training in the Czech Republic, will follow and the L-159, from the Czech Air Force will complement them.

Fans of ground military technique or civil security forces can look forward the show, too. The Army of the Czech Republic will present combat and support vehicles and Poland will have also large spectrum of representatives as the first Special Partner Country. Firefighters, paramedics, police, prison service, customs administration, but also universities will attract by their equipments and examples of their procedures.

For the historic presentations should be created special section. Pavlačík adds: "Many participants try to present even past of their units, as in the case of Ostrava Municipal Police and Customs Administration. Military History Institute has history right in the job description. They will introduce first republic staff car Škoda 903. We hope, that everyone will choose his favourites in this wide range."

Arrivals and first trainings of aircraft are scheduled already from Thursday, departures are scheduled mainly on Monday after the event. Detailed schedule will be published no later than on Tuesday, weekend schedule on Wednesday. "Arrivals and rehearsals are a reason good enough to come to the Mošnov airport, but we also understand that almost constant noise from aircraft may be very annoying for many local residents. We would like to ask for understanding and we hope that they will consider a short distance from home to the event as an advantage," says Pavlačík.
