Czech Police to showcase Ferrari and joint operation with Polish AGAT unit
Among the security forces featured at this year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will once again be one of the event’s main co-organizers – the Police of the Czech Republic. Visitors can look forward to dynamic live demonstrations as well as a diverse static exhibition, offering a closer look at the wide scope of police service.
The highlight of the program will undoubtedly be an intervention by the Moravian-Silesian Rapid Response Unit, which, together with Poland’s elite AGAT special forces, will free hostages from the hands of terrorists. While AGAT has appeared at NATO Days several times in the past, this joint performance with Czech police officers will be an absolute premiere – their planned debut last year had to be canceled due to severe flooding.
Another visitor favorite will be a demonstration of police canine units, where police officers will showcase their four-legged partners in model scenarios. In addition, the Directorate of Immigration Police Service will also present its activities in action.
“The motto of our event is a reminder that our security should never be taken for granted. While external security issues are most often discussed today, internal security is just as important. The Czech Republic is among the safest countries in the world, thanks in large part to the professionalism and hard work of our police officers,” said Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. “We are especially honored this year to host the ceremonial oath-taking of approximately 100 new police officers and 80 firefighters during the event.”
The static exhibition will be equally engaging, featuring service vehicles, motorcycles, ATVs, and specialized equipment such as a brand-new Tatra water cannon designed for both tactical and humanitarian operations, the mobile Schengenbus unit, and an Alunautic motorboat. A particular attraction will be the widely publicized Ferrari 458 Italia service car.
Also on display will be equipment from the traffic, public order, and alien police departments. The Special Public Order Unit will showcase its gear, including medical and ski equipment, while police divers will also be introduced. Children can enjoy themed games focused on prevention, while adults will have the opportunity to learn more about cybersecurity and police recruitment.
Most importantly, the role of the Czech Police goes beyond exhibition – they are key to the event’s organization. As in previous years, they will ensure visitor safety, manage traffic complications on access roads, and guarantee smooth operations throughout the event, including care for lost children.
