07.09.2025, 12:04

The NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will once again take place at Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava – the main international gateway to the largest city of the Moravian-Silesian Region. On behalf of the event’s long-standing partners, the Statutory City of Ostrava, the Region, and Mošnov Airport invite you to join us.

Ostrava, the third largest city in the Czech Republic and the heart of the Moravian-Silesian Region, is a place with a fascinating story. Once known primarily for its industrial heritage, today it is recognized above all for the iconic Dolní Vítkovice cultural site. Over the past decades, the city has undergone a remarkable transformation. Thanks to several universities, advanced technological infrastructure, a wide range of shopping and services, as well as vibrant cultural and sports facilities, Ostrava is now a “green,” clean, and one of the most modern cities in the country. It is no coincidence that it hosts major international events that attract visitors from across Europe – from NATO Days and the legendary Golden Spike athletics meeting to renowned music festivals such as Colours of Ostrava and Beats for Love. Ostrava has thus earned a special place not only among tourists, but also students, families, and entrepreneurs seeking a welcoming environment to live, work, and thrive.

The Moravian-Silesian Region, however, has even more to offer. The Jeseníky and Beskydy mountains are perfect for hiking in summer and skiing in winter, while castles and châteaux such as Hukvaldy or Hradec nad Moravicí reflect the region’s rich history. The Technotrail (Technotrasa) connects technical landmarks and attractions, offering visitors insights into the development of mining, fortifications, and historic means of transport.

The venue of the NATO Days, Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava, is the third largest airport in the Czech Republic and a key international transport hub. Constantly developing, it serves both domestic and international airlines. Every third weekend in September, dozens of military aircraft from allied and partner nations join them on its runways. Come and see them in Mošnov on September 20–21, 2025!
