Popular Action Afternoon returns!
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary NATO Days in Ostrava & the 16th Czech Air Force Days, the much-loved Action Afternoon will make its comeback after an eight-year break as part of the official associated program. On Wednesday, September 17, from 12:00 to 18:00, a selection of participants and equipment - later showcased at the weekend show - will be presented at the Géčko Shopping Center.
“Action Afternoon is a fantastic opportunity to experience the atmosphere of NATO Days even before the main program begins. We are delighted that, thanks to the Géčko Shopping Center, which will host the event, and Rádio Čas, which will provide production support, this event is returning after eight years and can reach even those who may not be able to attend at Mošnov Airport,” said Zbyněk Pavlačík of Jagello 2000.
Visitors can look forward to presentations by the Czech armed and security forces. Their personnel will display their weapons and equipment, but more importantly, they will be available for conversations about different aspects of their service. The military will be represented by members of the 21st Tactical Air Force Base Čáslav, who will offer visitors the chance to try a unique flight simulator and explore a pilot’s gear.
The duties of the security forces will be presented by members of the Czech Police from the Foreign Police Department, Customs Administration, Karviná Prison, Opava Prison, and Ostrava Remand Prison. The Ostrava Municipal Police have prepared attractive dynamic demonstrations for visitors, with their dog handlers and their four-legged colleagues showing how police dogs are trained. Those interested will also be able to try shooting at a laser shooting range or fill out educational quizzes.
