Prison Service to repel attack on long-distance escort
The strong presence of Czech security forces at the event will be further expanded by another traditional participant – the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. For visitors, it has prepared an attractive dynamic demonstration as well as a broad static exhibition, where they will be able to explore the diverse duties performed by its officers.
In the dynamic display, Prison Service officers will showcase one of the key aspects of their work – the long-distance escort of inmates. Based on real interregional transfer procedures, they will simulate an intervention against an attack on a convoy that occurs during a breakdown of one of the service buses.
As part of the static exhibition, the vehicle fleet will once again be on display, and visitors will have the opportunity to gain a detailed insight into the activities involved in the work of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. They will learn how prisoners are treated, what opportunities exist for education, therapeutic programs, and employment for convicts, and they will be able to “get hands-on” with the equipment and gear used. A separate part of the presentation will feature a recruitment stand, where the Prison Service will showcase a wide range of career opportunities—from wardens and guards, to drivers, psychologists, and social workers.
Educational institution for incarcerated persons will also present their work – the Secondary Vocational School of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic – which will showcase the implementation of modern technologies in teaching, aimed at ensuring the best possible reintegration of offenders into the labor market after release. Special attention will also be given to the Academy of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, which provides both basic and advanced qualifications and competencies necessary for employees to carry out their service and professional duties.
The program will also include a practical demonstration of self-defense training and the use of coercive measures. In a separate presentation, the healthcare provider within the prison system, the Medical Facility of the Ministry of Justice, will also be introduced.
However, the Prison Service of the Czech Republic does not contribute to the event only through attractive dynamic and static demonstrations, but also plays a major role in the overall organization. It assists in building and dismantling expositions, ensures transport for participants and guests, and has long been an indispensable part of the security community, not only within NATO Days. The main task and mission of the Prison Service is to work with incarcerated persons and support their rehabilitation, so that after release they do not reoffend. In this way, the security corps makes a significant contribution to ensuring the safety of society as a whole.
The Prison Service first took part in NATO Days back in 2003 and has since been a regular and welcome participant.
