Slovakia as this year's Special Partner Nation will present at NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days not only aircraft, but also ground forces equipment. Slovak defence industry will also participate in this contribution and show its newest products at Mošnov airport.

First, there will be two types of howitzers which have close relations to the equipment of the Czech Armed Forces. Visitors can look forward to the ZUZANA and ZUZANA 2 self-propelled cannon howitzers which represent modernized versions of the Czechoslovak ShKH vz.77 DANA. The Slovak Armed Forces will bring along ZUZANA, whereas ZUZANA 2 will be presented by the Slovak Security and Defence Industry Association (SSDIA).

Both of these howitzers have the 8x8 chassis, the ZUZANA 2 type differs from its predecessor by a single chassis design and a prolonged barrel. In addition, its electronic equipment, diagnostics, and mechanisation of service work during loading and firing makes it one of the contemporary most modern systems.

Another premiere participation at this year's NATO Days will belong to the Corsac 8x8 armoured vehicle that will also be brought by the SSDIA. This vehicle, which was manufactured by Slovak companies MSM Martin, EVPÚ, Konštrukta Defence along with the US company General Dynamics, is based on the Austrian Pandur II armoured vehicle that is, thanks to a licence, being produced for the Czech Armed Forces by Czechoslovak Group. Corsac 8x8 represents an all-purpose armoured vehicle suitable not only for combat, but also reconnaissance, medical or rescue purposes. Although Corsac 8x8 was primarily developed for the needs of the Slovak Armed Forces, it has attracted even foreign parties.

“Defence industry as such is an integral part of national defence capability building, therefore, we are delighted that its representatives will give our visitors a unique chance to have a closer look at most advanced products as well as not yet presented equipment at our show so far,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000.

Static presentation of the Slovak Armed Forces will then be completed by the RM-70/85 MODULAR multiple rocket launcher, the Tatrapan command vehicle, the AKTIS 4X4 truck or the ASTRA automated command system.
