10.09.2016, 09:32

The Weekend Show NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days at Mošnov Airport is always enriched by its associate programme in the city centre of Ostrava. Come and watch the premiere of documentary movies, chat with pilots or see part of the equipment which will appear during the weekend show.

On Wednesday, September 14, the Action Afternoon is returning into Ostrava. This time, the place is set for Dolní Vítkovice, from 3 PM to 6 PM in front of the visitors‘ centre. The incoming visitors can see the military, police or rescue equipment. The Prague Castle Guard will bring two motorbikes BMW R 1200 RT-P, which will be also presented during the dynamic display at the airport. People can also see the legendary MiG-21 jet fighter, which is a part of the permanent external exposition of Dolní Vítkovice and which will fly during NATO Days as well thanks to the Romanian dynamic display.

Moreover, if you or your children draw TATRA and bring a picture to the Action Afternoon during 3 PM and 6PM, they will get the reward, and in case of being lucky and being picked up in the lottery, they will win a ride by the armoured vehicle TITUS on TATRA chassis.

„NATO Days in Ostrava are not only about the weekend show as itself, the whole week is basically full of events and associate programmes. Besides arrivals of the foreign and Czech participants, we are also trying to bring the atmosphere of NATO Days directly in the city. This includes Wednesday’s Action Afternoon and Thursday’s movie day as well as the Friday’s chats with pilots,“ explains Zbyněk Pavlačík, CEO of Jagello 2000.

On Thursday, September 15, the two historical movies will be projected in Minikino Kavárna during the Day with the Czech Television Documents. Ostrava’s highschool students can watch Men from Lane of Dead at 9 AM and 11 AM. The document focuses on truths and myths about the famous Hradec Králové battle, which significantly affected the Czech nation and the Czechoslovakia later on. The Czech actor Josef Dvořák guides through the document. The movie will be projected for the public at 5 PM.

Then at half past seven, there will be a premiere of the movie Message from Hell, which follows the dramatic story of Alfred Wetzler and Rudolf Vrba, who succeed to escape from a concentration camp Osvetim. However, their testimony about horrors in camps is apparently not so interesting for the rest of the world. The director and scriptwriter is Ján Novák. Moreover, both premieres will be attended by the creators of the movies, who will be ready to answer the questions after the projection.

On Friday, September 16, people can visit a bookstore KNIHCENTRUM at Smetanovo náměstí 8, where the chats with pilots take place from 2 PM to 5 PM. The Jordanian Army’s female fighters have already confirmed their participation. The discussion with the foreign participants will be in English. Translation into the Czech language will be provided. You can book your seat on the phone number +420 607 082 029 or email [email protected]. The reservations will be cancelled fifteen minutes before the start of the programme.

All events are for free.
