This year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will once again feature an exciting presentation by the Czech Customs Administration. Together with their German colleagues, the Customs Service prepared an attractive dynamic display and a rich static exhibition.

The action-packed display will draw spectators in with a combination of joint Czech-German mobile patrol inspections and a thrilling operation against smugglers, showcasing the skills of the Czech Customs Administration’s Operational Deployment Group. For dog lovers, customs officers will demonstrate how their canine partners detect weapons, alcohol, CITES-protected items, or even cash.

The static exhibition will be equally extensive. Visitors can try out the popular laser shooting range, where they can experience shooting a service weapon firsthand, and view the equipment that customs officers use in a line of duty. As part of international cooperation, Germany will provide a new high-capacity mobile X-ray unit for the static display.

Visitors will also be able to test their skills in identifying counterfeit goods such as cosmetics, clothing, electronics, and car parts, highlighting the importance of intellectual property rights protection. Additionally, the exhibition will draw attention to the illegal trade with endangered species and demonstrate how customs officers uncover criminal activities related to the illegal production of narcotic and psychotropic substances.

The Customs Technical Laboratory will also be present, offering visitors the chance to explore research methods and try out analysis techniques. A range of devices will be on display, including a handheld Raman spectrometer, which can identify up to 12,000 different substances or detect the presence of methanol in spirits. This exhibition will also include the opportunity to look inside an illegal tobacco or spirits factory and see how customs officers are taking action against this type of crime.

Last but not least, the already wide offer of the Customs Administration will be complemented by the possibility to verify your debt-free status or arrears recorded by the Customs Administration and the presence of the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) with recruitment to the Czech bone marrow donor register.
