The Prison Service will protect the escort column and present the development of the prison system

02.09.2019, 18:47

The Prison Service of the Czech Republic will once again present themselves at the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, whose booth and fleet with typical purple stripes are hard to miss by visitors. It will also be hard to overlook its dynamic action presentation.

The Prison Service officers will demonstrate the protection of the convoy carrying the prisoner against assault by a group of attackers, involving 30 people in the roles of attackers and defenders.

“Our dynamic demonstration will take almost 15 minutes and this time we will use the entire space for these demonstrations. The visitors will see the activities and tactics of our members practically all over the area, as the demonstration will be de facto mirrored, ”said the Director-General of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic Petr Dohnal. Once again, visitors can look forward to an action show in which there is no shortage of tension and shooting.

This year's static presentation will show the development of the prison system from the First Republic, through the period of socialism, to the current prison system.

“We will introduce visitors to the political processes in the exhibition with use of the historical documents, and photographs, and we will show, among other things, what a real cell looked like in the 1950s,” revealed Petr Dohnal.

Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to learn about unauthorized objects confiscated from prisoners, the means of coercion with which the Prison Service members work, as well as the sporting achievements of the service and other interesting things from the world beyond the walls and barbed wires. The Prison Service will also show off its fleet, including an escorting bus, which still inspires respect and curiosity among visitors.

The static presentation will include kiosk for the recruitment of new officers and a stall with products from the Center of Economic Activity of Metal Manufacturing, which are made by convicts. Visitors will be able to purchase these products on-site or at www.arestshop.cz.
