VOP CZ to present the autonomous TAROS Pyro vehicle and the Leopard 2A4 tank

The Military Repair Enterprise (VOP CZ) will showcase equipment at NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days that symbolizes international defense industry cooperation as well as the current priorities of the Czech Armed Forces.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see one of the Leopard 2A4 tanks, for which VOP CZ has recently assumed responsibility for servicing and maintenance in cooperation with the German company Rheinmetall, as well as the brand-new autonomous vehicle TAROS Pyro, developed in-house by VOP CZ.

This state-owned enterprise, operating under the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, has served for more than half a century as a key partner of the Czech Army. Based in Šenov near Nový Jičín, it manages the full life cycle of military equipment in the Czech arsenal – from development and production through modernization to long-term service support. Its portfolio includes numerous successful projects, such as the renowned upgrade of Soviet T-72 tanks to the M4 CZ version and the production of Pandur II wheeled armored vehicles.

Today, VOP CZ plays a crucial role in the preparation of new CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, which – in line with NATO commitments to establish a heavy brigade by 2026 – will form the backbone of the Czech Army’s mechanized units. The enterprise is involved not only in their assembly but also in the preparation of specialized variants, including an artillery observation version and a medical evacuation vehicle. Its importance extends internationally as well – beyond close cooperation with Rheinmetall, VOP CZ is preparing production of armored cabins for the KNDS defense group and the German armed forces.

Visitors to NATO Days will be able to explore VOP CZ’s equipment and projects at the company’s booth, located in front of the VIP zone entrance. Here, they will see firsthand the quality of a traditional symbol of Czech engineering expertise, with VOP serving as a reliable partner contributing to the security of the Czech Republic and actively shaping the future of Czech military technology. A special photo booth will also be available, offering visitors a chance to take home a unique souvenir photograph.
