Beginning of May: ten confirmed countries and 400 minutes of programme

10.05.2019, 14:35

At this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, we will commemorate 70 years since the founding of the North Atlantic Alliance and 20 years since the Czech Republic's accession to NATO. After last year's “centennial” celebrations, it will be another special year, as hints the participation confirmed so far.

At the beginning of May, ten countries have officially confirmed their equipment, sending more than 25 airplanes to the Mošnov airport, two acrobatic groups and spectators can looking forward to four premieres. Due to the different ways of planning performances at aviation events in each country, we are now in the meantime after the first wave, and many negotiations are in progress or not even started.

"As our fans can know, we are only announcing officially confirmed participation, so we do not comment on the information that will appear on various websites and social networks," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. “Still we would like to reveal in what direction negotiations are taking place. And that is not enough to illustrate the fact that we now count on 400 minutes of aerial and ground dynamic displays, so we already have an almost full programme, which on Saturday counts eight hours, or 480 minutes."

We are conducting the negotiations in a positive way with seven countries, which regularly participate in the event - France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, the United States, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. However, it does not have to be their traditional participation, but we can also wait for interesting premieres in these cases. Also, the already announced countries can expand their presentation, and this may not only apply to Slovak and German non-military units. This year's partner state, Romania, considers the scale of its exhibitions and displays, but we have not yet announced any details, but we hope to please fans of both aircraft and ground armoured vehicles.

The situation is open with Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Canada, Macedonia, and Slovenia. We have no response from them yet, but as we have seen last year at Slovenia, sometimes we receive it only a few weeks before NATO Days, and nothing really can be deduced from the current state of negotiations.

However, some states have said that they are not counting with their participation at the Mošnov airport this year. Namely Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Spain, and Turkey.

But we should not forget the Czech military and non-military units. Here, visitors of the event can look forward to all the traditional participants who are preparing this year's expositions and scenarios of dynamic displays and who will also want to offer something new.
