Czech Army to showcase all its capabilities
Visitors of this year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days may once again look forward to an ample presentation of Czech Forces military technology. Vehicles seen in dynamic displays will be available at static expositions as well, along with tens of other pieces of military technology. Apart from presenting itself, the Army of Czech Republic also supports the logistics of the whole event.
Naturally, NATO Days in Ostrava are not only a presentation of air forces and attendants may therefore also inspect vehicles, arms and equipment of ground forces. Almost all units of the Army of the Czech Republic have prepared a presentation of their activities, weapons and battle gear, providing the visitors with both information and curiosities about their units.
“An event as big as NATO Days in Ostrava could not be organised without the logistical support of the Army of the Czech Republic, specifically of its 7th mechanised brigade which every year ensures that this biggest security show in Europe will not face any problems. Moreover, Czech Army servicemen annually present their technology and this year they provide over 40 pieces of materiel on display; dozens of other vehicles are also being used for logistical support of the event,” notes Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. “As it is not possible to mention here every single unit participating at the event, we would like to highlight at least several of them.”
The aforementioned 7th mechanised brigade is apart from a substantial organisational support of NATO Days coordinating a joint army dynamical spectacle which will show in action technology such as its T-72M4CZ tanks, armoured infantry fighting vehicle BVP-2, self-propelled mortar PRAM or armoured ambulance AMB-S.
Visitors interested in static vehicles inspection may see a presentation of the 15th Engineer Regiment from Bechyně which will bring a Tatra 813 AM-50 bridge truck or PTS-10 tracked amphibious transporter. Apart from these, a remote-controlled unmanned demining system BOŽENA will be also available for inspection – a system used, among others, in 2010 by a Jordanian Army, whose servicewomen will also hold a presentation during the NATO Days.
Other interesting shows include 31st Regiment of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence and Training Command – Military Academy Vyškov. The former will provide its NBC reconnaissance vehicle Land Rover RCH for inspection, while Vyškov academy will showcase its vehicles, namely lightweight multi-purpose armoured vehicles IVECO and DINGO, wheeled armoured vehicle PANDUR designated for infantry protection and a three-axle truck Tatra 810 which will be on static display.
Agencies from the Support section will hold presentations as well – Human Resources Agency, Communication and Information Systems Agency and Military Intelligence, along with Ministry of Defence agencies and units which do not fall under the Army command, such as Military Police. Their arms and gear will be open for inspection.
