On its anniversary, the German Luftwaffe will present the legendary Tornado in action
The German Air Force is preparing a unique presentation for the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. One of the biggest attractions of the entire show will be the premiere dynamic display of the Tornado IDS aircraft, there will be also other premieres, but traditional aircraft will not be missing.
This year, two extraordinary occasions have come together. First, Germany is a Special Partner Nation state of the event and its air force is commemorating its70th anniversary. Therefore, its planned participation is absolutely exceptional and Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport will experience its largest foreign presentation of 11 aircraft.
"Since 2016, when Germany was a partner state of our event for the first time, they hold us in great favor and this year is no exception. In addition, it will be showcasing its legendary Tormado IDS fighter jet in a flight display for the first time here," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "This aircarft with variable-sweep wingy last had a dynamic display here 16 years ago, at that time it was an aircraft of the British Royal Air Force. We are therefore very happy that thanks to Germany we will experience it again after such a long time and hopefully the dream of many aviation fans will come true."
In addition to the Tornado, other aircraft that are very popular will also be presented in the dynamic displays. The Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet will show its deafening maneuvers, while the mighty A400M Atlas will demonstrate its impressive agility. All three aircraft will also be given a special camouflage commemorating 70 years of the German Air Force. During the flyover, it will be possible to see for the first time an Airbus, which provides transportation for the highest constitutional officials.

There will be also many aircraft on static displays, where visitors will be able to see the equipment up close. They will feature both the Eurofighter Typhoon and Panavia Tornado combat aircraft, as well as the giant A400M transport aircraft. These will be accompanied by two helicopters that have not yet been seen at the Mošnov airport – the heavy transport CH-53 Sea Stallion and the multi-purpose AS532 Cougar.
"The German Air Force has never shown itself in such scale at NATO Days and will contribute not only to the celebrations of its anniversary, but also to the presentation of the Special Partner Nation. The ground forces and other military branches, as well as other security and rescue units, are also preparing to join us with their equipment. We will publish details about their involvement on an ongoing basis," concludes Pavlačík.
