Sunday programme enriched by C-17 and AWACS flypasts

19.09.2015, 20:26

The first day of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days was the most successful day of the show ever with 155,000 visitors. And Sunday programme is also worth seeing, as it offers some special displays, especially interesting flypasts of the U.S. C-17 Globemaster and NATO’s E-3A AWACS.

The visitors may see C-17 aircraft of Strategic Airlift Capability programme on the ground display and American C-17 plane, the support of B-52 bomber, in the air during Sunday. „NATO Days’ visitors have the unique opportunity to watch C-17 both in the air and on the ground, which is really rarely seen at this kind of events,“ stated Zbynek Pavlacik from Jagello 2000. „The flypast is planned for 12:30.“

Approximately at the same time, the Alliance’s Boeing E-3A Sentry with AWACS system will be performing a flypast over Mosnov. Originally the E-3A planned to participate at NATO Days 2015 with static display, however due to the operational duties, this has been cancelled. Despite the fact that AWACS will not joint the giants’ row, we firmly believe that its Sunday flypast will be very attractive for the visitors. AWACS will perform so called touch and go manoeuver.
