The Airbus A400M Atlas from a unique international squadron will visit NATO Days

Visitors to the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days 2021 can once again look forward to a visit of the European giant A400M, but this time from a unique Belgian-Luxembourgish squadron!

Luxembourg and Belgium, which are the founding members of NATO, given their size, see international cooperation as one of the safeguards for their own security. That is why part of the functions and services, especially the training of soldiers, are performed together. In addition to the education of new officers, the cooperation between Luxembourg and Belgium also covers the field of transport aviation, which is provided within the framework of the International 15^th Transport Squadron. Visitors may thus encounter the paradox that the Luxembourg A400M Atlas will in fact be piloted by the Belgians and vice versa.

"NATO Days are not only about the roaring engines of fighters or armoured vehicles, but also about the presentation of international cooperation. It is the example of Luxembourg and Belgium that illustrates how far this cooperation can go and confirms that together we are stronger, "comments Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000." At Mošnov Airport, we have already hosted the Alliance E-3A Sentry AWACS or C-17 from Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) programme, we are so pleased to present another example of successful cooperation.”

For the A400M aircraft, this is only the fourth participation at the NATO Days, when it premiered in 2016, ie only three years since it was put into service. The last time this European giant visited Leoš Janáček Airport in Ostrava was last year, when in the colors of the German Air Force demonstrated a solo flight demonstration and an impressive simulation of air-to-air refueling (AAR) together with the Czech JAS-39 Gripen.
