The Slovenian Swifts will fly over the Mošnov sky for the seventh time

If we were looking for a traditional turboprop participant with a fixed wing, it would be the Slovenian Pilatus PC-9M aircraft. It will not miss this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, when this machine will be presented in a dynamic and static demonstration.

Slovenia does not have supersonic aircraft and the single-engine two-seater PC-9M Hudournik (Slovenian swift) thus forms the backbone of its air force. Their role includes, in particular, light combat missions and attacks against ground targets. Although these are relatively powerful machines, they are not suitable for airspace protection tasks. Under the framework of the North Atlantic Alliance air policing, Slovenian airspace is guarded by the Italian and Hungarian air forces.

Slovenia is a valid member of NATO, providing its troops to many missions, including strengthening the Alliance's eastern wing as part of its advanced presence in the Baltics. "Slovenian repeated participation also points to close relations between our countries, which is underlined by the Czech footprint in the Slovenian Air Force, which uses the L-410 Turbolet transport machine and Zlín training aircraft."

PC-9 aircraft were manufactured by the Swiss company Pilatus. It is directly based on its predecessor, the PC-7, which is characterized by a more powerful engine and a larger cockpit. In addition to the tasks of supporting the ground forces, it is also used for basic and advanced training. Almost 250 pieces of this type were produced, while outside Slovenia, for example, Croatia, Switzerland and Bulgaria use it.
