Visitors will have an opportunity to try first aid

The NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days are not an event where only military equipment is presented. Rescue and medical institutions and organizations also have their place here. Visitors can look forward to the presentation of the Emergency Medical Service of the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Regional Association of the Czech Red Cross Ostrava (RA CRC), the Ostrava Health Institute or the Military Health Agency.

The Emergency Medical Service of the Moravian-Silesian Region, which is one of the main organizers of the event and participates in providing security of the event, will arrive with static displays of its vehicles. You will find, for example, an ambulance emergency vehicle or a special ambulance for transporting infectious patients.

Members of the RA CRC have prepared static displays of its equipment – ambulances, a technical vehicle or a tent of the Humanitarian Unit for the mass disability of persons. All activities of the association in the form of medical assistance at cultural and sports events, first aid training and appreciation of non-contributory blood donors will also be presented.

Visitors will be able to learn the basics of first aid, including resuscitation, and view all the equipment at the tent of the regional association. In addition, the static display will be accompanied by photographs of the activities of RA CRC on a large screen.

The Military Health Agency will arrive with three medical containers each of which will present different capability – an infusion solution production plant, a biological and haematology laboratory and a stomatology container.

The Ostrava Health Institute will allow visitors to take an HIV test which will take place in an ambulance or a scissor tent. Just a drop of blood from your finger and within five minutes you will know how you are doing. Testing is free, completely anonymous and intended only for interested persons over the age of 15.
