You can contribute to the Military Fund of Solidarity at NATO Days

For the second time, visitors of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Day will have an opportunity to support families of fallen or wounded Czech soldiers trough the Military Fund of Solidarity.

The Military Fund of Solidarity was established last spring in order to help soldiers, who either died during service or suffered heavy physical disabilities, which prevent them from carrying out their service further.

“Military Fund of Solidarity reminds us, that heavy injuries or even loss of life are also part of the military profession. And because our event owes many things not only to Czech soldiers, we would like to thank them also with the support of this fund,” states Zbyňek Pavlačík, the Chairman of Jagello 2000. “We will be happy, if visitors also perceive their support of the Fund as an appreciation of military servicemen, without whom the NATO Days in Ostrava would not take place in their current form.”

Visitors of NATO Days in Ostrava will find a charity boxes in the venue, where they will have the chance to financially contribute and acquire further information about its activities. During the last edition of the show 39,263 CZK in 5 collection points were raised. Those, who would rather use a bank transaction, may send their contribution anytime to:

„With our activities we are primarily trying to improve the quality of life of children whose parents died or suffered heavy injuries during military service,” specified Col. (Ret.) Jiří Majkus, the Director of the Fund. “Corporal Stanislav Vajda, father of three, who was a member of the Czech Ground Forces became the first-ever client of the Fund. Currently, we support 27 children in total. We thank all contributors on behalf of all our existing and future clients.”

Over a year and a half of its existence, the fund has accumulated over 2.7 million CZK and a total of 384,486 CZK were paid in donations.
