You can contribute to the Military Solidarity Fund at NATO Days

22.08.2018, 13:20

Visitors of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will once again have the opportunity to support soldiers and their families in difficult life situations via the Military Solidarity Fund (MSF). There will be four charity boxes located in the venue where people can contribute with any financial amount.

For more than three years, the Military Solidarity Fund offers help to soldiers and their family members who have found themselves in a difficult life situation. The financial contributions are allocated, for example, to improve quality of life of those children whose military parent has fallen, or been wounded and suffered physical disabilities. The main purpose of the Fund is thus to ease the negative social impacts of these difficult times through financial support as these soldiers and their families had not caused them.

“The Military Solidarity Fund is here for soldiers, it was established to help them and their families immediately, whenever they find themselves in a difficult life situation. If a soldier contributes to the fund regularly, it shows their professional attitude, warm relationship with their friends and colleagues, to every one of them,” emphasizes chairman of the MSF Committee, Brigadier General Lenka Šmerdová. „On the other hand, contributions made by companies, enterprises or individuals out of the Ministry of Defence represent a gesture of support and solidarity. Amount of the financial support is not important, every contribution counts,” notes Brig. Gen. Šmerdová.

There is currently a special MSF collection until August 31 organized for the benefit of families of three Czech soldiers who had been killed in Afghanistan on August 5, 2018, which has already collected incredible 8,589,558 CZK. Those interested may send their contribution to the following MSF’s bank account:

Bank account: 44665522/0800
Variable symbol: 918

They can also send SMS including DMS VFS 30 or DMS VFS 60 to DMS VFS 90 to number 87777 based on the amount they want to contribute.

There will be four charity boxes at the Mošnov Airport where visitors may contribute with any financial amount and thus show their solidarity with soldiers of the Czech Armed Forces and their families, who have gone through difficult times. Those who would rather use a bank transfer may send their contribution to the aforementioned bank account.

Last year, the Military Solidarity Fund received 3,867 contributions from individuals and legal entities in the total amount of 2,861,198 CZK, including a departmental collection organized in the name of the War Veterans‘ Day among soldiers and employees of the Ministry of Defence which was supported by Jagello 2000 and brought 696,448 CZK to the Fund. Since the beginning of this year, help has been provided to five clients within the care programme for soldiers and their families in a difficult life situation in the form of financial support in the total amount of 444,560 CZK.
