After a year, we look forward to the return of visitors to the NATO Days!

We are very pleased that, after a one-year break, hygienic measures will allow visitors to return to Europe's largest security show. Up to 40,000 of them can reach the venue of the NATO Days in Ostrava & the Czech Air Force Days in one day, and a valid test on infectivity will suffice for half of them. To regulate the number, for the first time in the history of the event, we will distribute tickets, the acquisition of which will be necessary to enter the complex and which will be one-day. Admission to the event remains free.

This year's NATO Days in Ostrava and the Czech Air Force Days will be open to up to 40,000 people a day based on talks with the Ministry of Health this week. "In July, it never occurred to us that we would be able to offer access to up to 50% of normal capacity," says Jagello 2000 chairman Zbyněk Pavlačík. "We are very pleased to be able to welcome the general public again at Leoš Janáček Airport in Ostrava."

Our event is subject to standard measures as to other events, such a high number of visitors is possible due to the large size of the area and the conditions of hygiene measures in force since September 1, 2021. These mean that at least half of all visitors must have completed vaccinations (at least 14 days) or provide evidence of covid-19 within 180 days of infection.

In addition to the above two conditions, the other half of the visitors can also prove a negative result of the covid-19 disease test, ie a negative PCR test not older than 7 days or a negative antigen test not older than 72 hours. One of these conditions must be met by all visitors over the age of six, children under the age of six will not even have to have a ticket.

We are pleased that NATO Days will be the first such large event in the Czech Republic since the start of the pandemic in 2020, but at the same time we care about compliance with all applicable hygiene rules. Therefore, we are glad that for the smoothest possible handling of visitors, our event will be a pilot project for the fusion of verification of covid certificates and distribution of tickets, which will be contained in one document. Thanks to the cooperation of the National Agency for Communication and Information Technologies (NAKIT) with Ticketportal, ticket holders will be able to check covid certificates in advance and thus simplify their check-in at the event.

Tickets will be distributed exclusively through Ticketportal. Tickets will be released gradually, with the first wave launching on August 27 for 15,000 visitors each day. Thanks to the NAKIT pilot system, ticket holders will be able to validate the vaccination certificate or provide evidence of covid-19 within 180 days of infection. Before traveling to the venue, it will be possible to verify the validity of the test certificate, 7 days in advance for the PCR test and up to 72 hours for the antigen test. For the functionality of this system, all tickets will be issued with the name.

Everyone who goes to the event will have to have a ticket already purchased and will have to meet the standard conditions for entry to the mass event according to the applicable hygiene rules. A test site will not be set up at the premises and tickets will not be distributed there. These will be one-time, ie after leaving the premises, re-entry will no longer be allowed.

Admission to the event will continue to be free of charge, but due to extraordinary measures, the purchase of a ticket is associated with a service fee of CZK 15, which only serves to cover Ticketportal's costs. Due to the introduction of this system, which is a novelty for us, we will keep you informed about the next steps and the launch of other waves of distribution.

"We are aware that the pandemic continues and the situation may change, especially with the beginning of the school year, and therefore we carefully prepared the conditions of entry and consulted with the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. Of course, our events is following government measures and the safety of visitors and participants is our absolute priority, ”adds Pavlačík, adding that one of the preventive measures is capping the maximum number of people.

“Although the event takes place outside in a relatively large area, we approach the current situation responsibly and with respect. That is why we have agreed with the Ministry of Health that we will welcome a maximum of forty thousand people in one day at the airport this year, ”adds Pavlačík.

When visiting the event area, the standard rules for covering mouth and nose will apply, ie the obligation to have a respirator worn outdoors will also apply if the distance of at least 1.5 meters from other persons is not observed, unless they are members of one household. A standard face mask will suffice for people under 15 years of age. These conditions do not apply to children under the age of six.
