This year’s NATO Days‘ arrivals to start already on Monday
Record number of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days‘ foreign participants means exclusive show for the visitors and increase air traffic at the airport. Besides American strategic bombers B-1B and B-52, which will arrive on Tuesday alongside with the German Eurofighter Typhoon, the KC-135 Stratotanker from U.S. Air Force will launch the arrival parade already on Monday.
„While the aviation fans gather in Ostrava from long distances, we are also aware of increased uncomfortable noise for the inhabitants, who live close to the airport, due to the military jet fighters and giant aircraft, which produce more thundering than common traffic planes. Notwithstanding, we would like to turn to them and ask for understanding,“ says Zbyněk Pavlačík, CEO of Jagello 2000.
Arrivals and Rehearsals Timetable
Traditionally, most of the foreign participants will arrive on Thursday and Friday, when the rehearsals will also take place. The flight programme above Mošnov airport will be thorough the both days. However, the German Eurofighter Typhoons will be an exception. „The German Luftwaffe perceives the preparation for NATO Days exceptionally above standard. Both display pilots will undergo the training displays on Wednesday and Thursday. Moreover, one of the Eurofighters should have a special painting regarding the 60-anniversary of Luftwaffe,“ Pavlačík adds. "Unfortunately we still do not know the German Typhoon's arrivals and rehearsal times, but we hope to announce them very soon."
The arrivals will also offer unique experiences, which cannot be seen during the weekend show. The Swedish tanker Hercules, in Swedish TP-84P, is for example supposed to perform a flaypast with tank hoses, however everything depends on circumstances.
