State-of-the-art technology for DARPA for the first time at an event in Central Europe

Viewers watching broadcasts from this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will have a unique opportunity to see selected live performances from the point of view of its participants. The Wave Relay technology, provided by Pramacom Prague, will be used to transmit the live-footage at this kind of public event for the first time in history.

We strive to offer all viewers who will only be able to watch the programme via Czech Television or the Internet an experience that they would not even have at the venue.

"Thanks to the state-of-the-art technology provided by Pramacom Prague, viewers will be able to become virtual participants in demonstrations through the live footage from the perspective of performers," emphasizes Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. "Besides, the Wave Relay technology will be used for this kind of event for the very first time."

The Wave Relay technology was developed by the Persistent Systems as part of the US Department of Defense's DARPA program. Its purpose is to provide armed and security forces or rescuers with similar services offered by smartphones, but without the need for ground infrastructure. Each Wave Relay terminal is both a radio and a base station, enabling further signal propagation. It can be either carried by soldiers, placed in aircraft, combat vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or unmanned UGV vehicles.

The system has already been used in the operational deployment, including U.S. counter-terrorist operations and the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound. Several hundred pieces of terminals of the MPU-5 type have also been introduced in the Army of the Czech Republic, which uses them mainly in training.
