Titus, ASCOD and Tatra Phoenix at NATO Days 2015
The company Tatra Trucks will present combat, rescue, civilian and also racing vehicles during NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days 2015. As a special partner and one of the major companies in Moravian-Silesian Region, Tatra Trucks will present its products both to experts and visitors of the event altogether with company Excalibur Group.
This year’s NATO Days will be a premiere for armoured vehicle TITUS®, which was designed in the cooperation with French producer NEXTER SYSTEMS. Moreover, the vehicle was awarded by Golden IDET 2015 during International Defence and Security Technology Fair in Brno. You may watch TITUS® right in the action during its driving characteristics display. This vehicle, probably one of the best armoured one in the last few years, is also partly Czech. Its undercarriage is made out of TATRA conception which provides the vehicle unmatched driving characteristics both in terrain and on the road. Further, TITUS® offers unprecedented modularity based on specific sets of equipment for concrete mission or operational environment. Therefore, the user may customize each vehicle according to his needs.
The dynamic displays will be also enriched by TATRA 8x8 Mammut wrecker with special Polish PS Szcezesniak extension. Mammut will present towing of armoured vehicle Pandur II 8x8. Last, but not least, the company Excalibur Group has decided to present driving characteristics of tracked armoured vehicle ASCOD in the cooperation with General Dynamic European Land Systems.
ASCOD is used successfully by Spanish and Austrian armed forces. The vehicle is also designed in two basic types: 35 tons heavy ASCOD 35 or ASCOD 42 with 42 tons of weight. Moreover the vehicle has a wide range of variability due to its available modifications from classical armoured transporter to infantry combat vehicle, connecting vehicle, command car or an armoured ambulance and light tank fitted with a cannon calibre 105 mm. So far experiences have already proved that the vehicle is able to fully replace both armoured transporters and lighter types of tanks. Thus the new ASCOD offers a unique opportunity to slim down the armoured vehicles’ fleet while having the same high standards.
Relax zone presentation has prepared for the visitors the civilian TATRA Phoenix Euro 6 equipment, fire fighters‘ and army’s special vehicle TATRA FORCE and race TATRA BUGGYRA RACING which is currently preparing for Rallye DAKAR 2016. The presentation of the new vehicle will be accompanied by Martin Kolomy autographing on Saturday, and Jaroslav Valtr’s, the driver of rallye vehicle, on Sunday.
