The NATO Days in Ostrava will offer a traditional show in non-traditional times!

17.09.2021, 15:25

The NATO Days in Ostrava and Czech Air Force Days in Ostrava will welcome visitors with attractive dynamic and static displays. As one of very few events of this kind this year in Europe, the NATO Days will be open to the public. Due to Covid-19 related measures, for the first time in history there is an obligation of ticket and non-infectivity certificate for entering the venue.

“In June earlier this year we couldn’t even think of being the biggest event of the year in the Czech Republic,” admits the president of Jagello 2000 Zbyněk Pavlačík. “We’re very pleased that we can welcome the greater public at the airport in Mošnov. We see it as a thanks to all the people who supported us last year.”

The main stars of this year are machines loaded with modern technology: F-35A Lightning II and MQ-9 Reaper. At the static displays they will be accompanied by the tiltrotor military aircraft CV-22 Osprey and the massive transport aircraft C-5M Super Galaxy as well as helicopters AH-64D Apache, UH-1Y Venom and AH-1Z Viper. Both in the air and on the ground you’ll see the German transport machine A400M Atlas. The legendary transport aircraft from World War II C-47 Dakota will bring a historical element to the dynamic display.

The dynamic demonstrations will be dominated by F-16 fighters from the Zeus Demo Team and SoloTurk team, as well as Gripen aircraft from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Sweden. The historical ancestors of Gripen will also be shown. There will also be a rich representation of helicopters - the Belgian AW109, the Swiss Super Puma and helicopters of the Czech Army or the Slovak UH-60 BlackHawk and the German EC-135. For the first time, the L-39NG and A-330 MRTT aircraft will be presented in a dynamic demonstration at Czech event. The Austrian Typhoon and Slovak Mig-29 aircraft will also be in flypast.

Two specialized expositions dedicated to the modernization of the Czech Armed Forces and German CBRN protection unit will be in the venue. It will be possible to see the Swedish mortar Mjölner, an exposition dedicated to Czech and German armored vehicles, as well as a number of expositions of Czech security forces and military units and agencies. These will be presented in a wide range of land dynamic demonstrations.

Due to measures against the spread of Covid-19, this year it is necessary to secure a ticket before entering the complex through the Ticketportal website. Admission to the NATO Days is still free, you only need to pay a service fee of 15 Czech crowns. Tickets are issued with the name. All visitors must prove that they are not infectious according to the applicable hygiene regulations, and it is not possible to take a test in the venue. We strongly recommend validating your ticket with a certificate in advance.
