In addition to the armed forces and security forces, the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days are also attended by medical units and organisations. One of them is the Regional Association of the Czech Red Cross Ostrava, which has prepared interesting activities and displays for the visitors.

The static display will feature a Mercedes Benz ambulance, an emergency trailer and other Czech Red Cross ("ČČK") machines. At its tent, you will be able to ask ČČK members about the organization's activities, its cooperation with foreign associations, blood donation or first aid. Along with other activities, you will be able to try it out for yourself under the supervision of experts.

You are invited not only to the Czech Red Cross tent, but also to colleagues from Poland and Germany, who have also prepared an interesting programme. In both tents there will be one member of the Czech Red Cross who will be available as an interpreter. It is definitely worth visiting the tents of foreign Red Cross associations, as some activities are not carried out in the same way in every country and you can learn new and interesting information. For example, colleagues from Germany or Austria provide transport services. This means that every ambulance heading to or from a hospital in these countries is a Red Cross ambulance.

Among other things, the Czech Red Cross is involved in social activities, teaching and providing first aid, humanitarian activities during emergencies, recognising non-contributory blood donors, organising rehabilitation stays for children and the elderly, and publishing books and magazines. The organisation also seeks to raise awareness of the problems of sexual violence, the social and economic situation of people in developing countries and countries affected by war or natural disaster. At the moment, the Red Cross operates in more than 190 countries.
