German giant A400M will simulate air-to-air refuelling

17.09.2020, 08:15

For the third time, the Airbus A400M Atlas transport aircraft will be present at the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. For this year, the German Air Force has prepared a special demonstration, during which Atlas will simulate air-to-air refuelling with a pair of Czech Gripens and later it will also present itself in a solo display.

This year, the Airbus A400M aircraft from Spain, Germany, and Malaysia took a part in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, transporting protective equipment or patients in serious condition. Due to their busy schedule, the participation of the A400M in public events is still rare.

"The Airbus A400M is a display of one of the most advanced military technology that the European armaments industry has to offer. We are so glad that we can welcome it at the airport in Mošnov this year as well," emphasizes Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. "It will also present itself for the first time in a flight demonstration with two Czech JAS-39C Gripen and it will also shows its capabilities later in its solo display."

The A400M Atlas is a four-engine turboprop tactical transport aircraft with strategic capabilities developed by Airbu. Its specifics include oppositely rotating propellers, which contribute to improving flight characteristics. The A400M can be found in the armament of France, Germany, Spain, UK, or Turkey.
