After a one-year break, the Slovenian PC-9 are returning to Mošnov

Another confirmed participant of the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days is Slovenia, which will traditionally display its PC-9M Hudournik turboprops in a dynamic and static displays.

Last year, Slovenia had to cancel its participation in the NATO Days due to the operational workload of the aircraft, but this year, again confirmed its participation in the biggest security show in Europe among the first foreign participants. It will arrive at the Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport with the backbone of its air force, which consists of PC-9M Hudournik aircraft, which means common swift in Slovenian.

"PC-9M turboprops do not reach the performance of powerful jet engines, but they have greater maneuverability, which they demonstrate in public performances. We are happy that thanks to the Slovenian Air Force, we will be able to see it again," says Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "Slovenia does not have its own fighter jets and its airspace is protected by Hungary and Italy within NATO, but its soldiers participate in strengthening the eastern wing Alliance after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, thus showing that it is a valid member of NATO."

The PC-9M is a light two-seat turboprop aircraft produced by the Swiss company Pilatus. Most countries use them as training aircraft before upgrading to more powerful machines, however they can also be used to attack ground targets. Together with Slovenia, Croatia, Ireland, and Switzerland also use these machines. It is thanks to Switzerland and its PC-7 TEAM that its predecessor, the PC-7 aircraft, which differs in terms of engine power and cockpit size, will also appear over the Mošnov airport.
